the shock would run out of travel on std nova shocks! they are almost bottomed out on 70mm springs! there for i would say you cant lower it 100mm!

Thats -85mm on 16's

http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/1166big3.jpg

and this is -80mm on 16's

Both cars using coilsprings.co.uk springs

IMO you dont want to be going any lower with springs... best bet is to get some adj coilovers

Mines -80mm on 16s and that is low enough! It even scrubs the rear inner arch every now and again with that kind of drop!!!

Shell was nice and the engine is a proper engine. But that rear suspension setup is fucking shit. Its a totally incorrect way of doing what he is trying to do on a nova, i could not (even if i was to search) find a more stunning example of a incredably poorly setout rear suspension setup on any car anywhere in the world.

TBH even stevie wonder could knock up better turrets than those old ones. I said exactly the same in my post when he put pics of it up before. Now i have turreted my nova i can tell where the strong point are and the weak points.

Well ok i was not realy thinking about the structual side of things when i posted the pics it was more of how you could get 100mm lowering etc,so i guess i shoud of though about saying he was changing it,sorry.

ok fellas point taken, 80 -85 sounds good on high poundage springs, but the problem i have is its completely stripped with no weight! ive got -60's on there at the mo and it sits very high. i have also got shortened shocks so it would be ok. Has anyone got any ideas on 80 -85 mm springs for sale? cheers. And also i am using 16 alessios!

your going to have fook all travel in the suspension with it that low on "normal" springs so you'd need severly shortened shocks to actually get effective damping from the setup....

basically it will be a show car that you "shouldnt" drive lol.

STE Novavanman
25-09-05, 02:01 PM
mine are on shortened tarmac gas remote adjustables shocks you would need some of these to go as low as me

MPP_RUSSELL

mine definately sits higher than yours scott, if coilovers are the only option then what ones are available without having to butcher the struts? The fk highsport ones look ok, any info?

I am running AVO coilovers and have retained the standard top mount in the rear, although it has been stitch welded. I have had no problems at all and I dont drive my car softly. I know of at least one other person who has the same suspension without the stitch welding and a full interior with a subs and regulary carried 4 people in the car with no problems

I have -100mm springs from coil springs.
I had to have some spacers machined up cos they were slightly to short. I would say if its stripped out like mine -85 to -90 would be more than enough.

Sorry about that chris mate i though you had them on yours for some reason
