Hi,
As you may all know I am now on the rebuild stage of my WIP - I am hoping to get a reliable 280-300 bhp out of the C20LET engine .
The spec so far is :-
Reprofile cams
Red bosch injectors
phase 3 software
ARP rod bolts
Turbo technics hybrid turbo
Large FMIC
50mm pipework
I am going to have the head ported, the crank and flywheel balanced but I am unsure what spec pistons and/or rods to go for.
Any help advice on spec and where to source would be appreciated.

Just think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you just need money....
joff for that sort of power i wouldnt bother with the steel rods. i have accralite low comp pistons with a .5 over bore. seem nicely made!
if i were you id fit a z20let oil pump and maybe get the under piston cooling mod done also! (wish i had!)
on the head, i was advised to only get the exhaust side mildly ported and polished, so thats what i done in the end. also get some new valve springs and some sbd valve spring retaining caps, the caps will need modding to fit gm springs!

All depends what you have to spend.
My pistons were ?850ish iirc, rods were not arrows they are farndon racing rods, better made than arrows and less money. Just ask cam what he thinks of arrow rods!
underpiston cooling,
balanced crank, pully, v belt pully, flywheel and clutch cover plate,
cometic head gasket,
bit of head fettling,
Also get some head studs dont bother with head bolts,
get the block checked for flat on the top.
Those are my starting tips and must buys.
lol what do i think of arrows? :P

Farndon rods as with any other rod come with no little hole to spray the oil from the crank bearing through the rod up to the piston. The oil sprayers have a ball bearing in them that craks off a a certain pressure spraying oil onto the underside of the piston to lubricate it. I used fiat tipo diesel sprayers IIRC.
Fardnon rods came from a guy on ebay but i brought them after the sale had ended for a bargin price. By far the best bargin i have brought for my car.
Pistons were from Arai but no use for your engine unless you were going for 475+ bhp on boost not noz.
Head work buy Gary on mig the moderator. He is shit hot and very resonable.
Head studs from Steveboyslim on MIG as is the cometic gasket.
Anything else just ask, sorry never got chance to reply to your email as been busy visiting my mate in hospital after a bike crash.
jamie on mig is offering the block mods etc on mig for circa ?100!
