alright folks

been offered a redtop for much cheapness but the owner who i know says that its got water in the inlets due to it sitting in his shed.
how much off a problem will this be???
would a simple re-build sort it or what?? what new parts will i need to replace???
also how do you check the engine isnt seazed again :oops:

sorry for all the questions

any help would be great

Water in the in-lets isn't good. If the bores are rusty then it will need a rebore and all the other things that entails, but I guess that it largley depends on how rusty the bores are as well. Its possible for the in-let valves to be closed and the water is sitting away for the cylinders. Therefore the rust might also be in the head.

To check if an engine is seized I would just take the plugs out and put a rachet or spanner on the pully attached to the crank and see if you can turn it over.

However I would get rid of all the water in the inlets first just incase the inlets are currently closed and therefore the water is sitting out of the cylinders.
