I've got a magnum rear bumper and I need to make a number plate recess so can anyone give me a few pointers?

All i was going to do was cut a shape just bigger than my number plate out of the middle of the bumper, and then make the recess using the cut piece as the back of the recess, using fibreglass to fill the gaps at the top and sides.

Does this sound about right?

IIRC Quad Conversions (www.quadconversions.com) sell a recess for their Viper bumper - the Viper is essentially the same as a normal GTE bumper but smooth. With a little work this would probably fit...

Alternatively, how about using the recess from a 306 bumper? I'm sure thats been done before...
