I've only ever seen 2 cars with the v6 conversion. Too much weight & not enough power.

A 2.0i 16v redtop nova will still be quicker up the 1/4 mile strip, something to think about...

there was a V6 nova on ebay last week, only had 167bhp, which, for the amount of hassle to fit a V6, itll be easier + quicker to XE it.

from what i've heard they go in just as easily.

to be honest, fitting an XE isn't the most simplest thing you can do.

but as said, power wise fit and XE..

or even better an XE power 1.6T40 ?

my mate used a m-tech 2.0 16v conversion kit then modded it to make the v6 fit.he said he'd never do another 1 tho

the 2.5 is about 170/180ish and the 3.0 is 207bhp (with the right intake and exhaust as the omega and calibra ones were different)

And spend 1500 on an engine instead of 300....

i wasn't exactly being 100% serious.

How's about spending 1k on a 2l 16v to make it handle like a small block nova ?

there's disadvantages and advantages of doing everything

I didnt mean it personally but N/L seem to be very against XE Novas and ohhh tune the 1.6 8v, there won't be any Twin 40's left in the world soon

Oh and for the arguement, my mates XE Nova handles amazingly well, infact better than any other car ive really ever been out in, thats just sat on AVO coilovers

want handling and power by motorbike engine then you got it all 150 bhp from 1.3 for 500 for engine and own mounts plus weights less then a 1 litre

Stuart

the 1.0l nova engine is fooking heavy as its made totally of cast iron lol.

exactly the small engines aren't that much of an advantage on handling

small block is still 50Kg's lighter than an 20 XE lol 50Kg's is a fook load of weight

motor bike engines dont really have enough torque unless you can get you car down to about 600kg's

benji

lol, i bet a busa engine has more torque than my engine and nearly twice the bhp

benji
22-09-05, 12:51 AM
just out of interest, does anyone how heavy the td engine is?

burgo
22-09-05, 01:04 AM
very lol. i love the good old v6 is to heavy debate

p.s.
Suzuki GSX1300R "Hayabusa" engine and gearbox is installed. Maximum horsepower 129kW(175PS)/9,800rpm, maximum torque 138N-m(14.1kg-m)/7,000rpm. Liquid cooled four stroke in-line 4 DOHC 16 valves engine will rev up to 11,000 rpm
which means 172bhp and 101 lb ft torque

benji
22-09-05, 01:22 AM
same torque as a standard gte. and loads more power.

p.s.

what site did you find that on? and what bhp is a gsxr 750 putting out (K4/K5)

burgo
22-09-05, 01:44 AM
just did a quick google

1996 Max Hp: 117.1@11,750 -- 1996 Max Tq: 57.0@9,750
1995 Max Hp: 92.9@10,500 -- 1995 Max Tq: 49.3@9,500

bit wank compared to the busa lol

benji
22-09-05, 02:21 AM
the k4/5 are the latest models. 2004, 2005 bit more power i think.

STE Novavanman

best bet is a zx12r engine on turbos then imagine that 250 bhp odd with an engine weight of around 100 kgs

burgo
23-09-05, 01:43 AM
fook how much it weighs someone buy my v6 ;) lol

Gistra-Nova
23-09-05, 10:46 AM
A turbo zx12r is about the best power to weight ratio, with a bike engine.

Until you tune a busa, seen 580bhp busas..........

burgo
23-09-05, 12:16 PM
ive seen a 600bhp busa. to be fair though it did go bang lol
