The Mk1 Escort was being driven by my little bro. It was his first outing in the car :P
Yeah my off was supprising. I did nothing, but the car must have hit a puddle. It was mega slippy out there. Plus someone had layed some oil on the track around about there somewhere, earlier on in the day. So it may have been that as well.
After watching the vids I think I agree a quickrack is needed. I think im all ready for Donnington now. I just need to get the car tested again on its driveby noise and im there!

you were more than lucky with that off, i watched a mk2 golf gti do exactly the same thing in exactly the same conditions, in exactly the same place and he rolled the car twice, bit of food for thaught when you get so close to the edge in the wet agian,
I was right beside the track when the golf did that infront of me. Mine was ALOT slower! But I don't go on the track thinking I best go slow so that I don't crash the car. I go on the track and go flatout. I try my best no to crash!
Thats why I have built a Nova and not an expensive car.
Its the guys who do it to stuff like this I feel sorry for.

Dunno what speed I was doing but I was in 4th but not reving hard I lifted off way before the kink. Its a well known spot for going off and so I was taking it really easy but the car must have caught a puddle or something.
That was my dad waving at my bro as we went past.
When Phil had his off there he was really motoring! In fact that was the same day as the Golf rolled it. They where going alot faster than I was because the track was drying out. It just wasn't dry enough to take the kink flat.

i was going to say that, i remember getting my car off the clock by the time i had to brake at the top cos i held it flat all the way up lol,
8k in 4th on a standard 2.0 8v bottom end is amusing, but thats why i would build another one anyday before a 16v, just love how strong they are.
oh and that red bimmer in the one lap vid was on one wasnt he lol, some well long drifts he had going there

That cosworth did that at camp corner on the RS Day. The E30 BMW is my mates car. It has one of those straight 6 Evolution engines in it (300+ bhp). He loves going sideways :twisted: I also like him going sideways because it slows him down. Then I can catch him :twisted:
If he drives it properly he can out drag me on the straight. Although I seems to have a small advamtage round the back of the circuit. I have his in-car footage as well, from when he was following me around.
If I can find someone to host it I will put that up.

Yup it is a fast E30 (Im sure thats the model) - Its had an engine transplant though and is powered by the 3.2l straight six evolution engine from a E36.
