17s on nova

thinking about puttin 17s on my nova is it a good idea or will it pull it apart

You will need to make sure you get the correct offset wheels (ET 45 - 49 are the best bet) , dont go above 7" in width with a tyre no bigger than 205/40/17, and you will probably need to roll the rear arches.

17's have a habit of eating wheelbearings, especially on the rear, you will find your nova will no longer handle as well as it does now and your brakes will look tiny behind the huge hoops :lol:

On the plus side, if matched with a decent kit and lowered 40mm Novas do look nice with 17's. Not my cup of tea but different things float different boats mate :D

personally i wouldnt bother, they will cause more problems than their worth. 16 inch would be the biggest i'd go

17s are good, i ran 17x7" 205/40/r17 ET45

Had rear arch lip rolled and slightl flared,l i mean very slightly.

Had no problems with rubbing.

And the diference between a 16" and 17" in wheel bearings in minute, the rolling radius is nearly the same for a start because 16s usually run 195/45/r16 tyres, so the 17s are approx 1cm bigger round the edge.

The weight will be very nearly the same.

Go for it if you like them

Was talking to Marty at home here, they're 49mm offset, Migla Mania Rims with 205/45s on it. He's tried them on and says they dont rub, he's gonna put in the STD rear springs in again to give him extra clearence although i said i'd grind the arches for him, any Shhhh about the 16's, i want them for the SRi!! :lol:

Well i have 17's on my nova, lowered 60mm with the Rear archs rolled, ok the only time it rubs is when u have two people in the bak(sometimes even with two it hasnt rubbed), but thats hardly ever, depends how often u take ya mates out lol.....i jus love the look of 17's
