GEARBOX ADVICE

I was helping a mate take his F20 box of his nova because it had blown again.(Too much being silly down back roads).We were just wondering if a f23 (i think thats what it is ) out of a v6 vectra fit onto his 2ltr or if not what else would hold up better than the f20 boxes that he has gone though. :?

problem with the F23 is that its the same size and layout as the F25 and F28 which means cutting and shutting the engine mount on the leg, a lot of hassle.

Also the vectra box is hydrulic clutch rather than cable so will cause aggro.

Also the Vectra box is a electronic speedo and has no means for fitting a cable driven ones so will be nigh on impossible to get the speedo set up correctly.

Thanks for the info ben.Been talking to a lad with the same problem and he gave me a number of a transmission specalist near us who has been building 16v nova for years so going to give him the car to see if he can sort it out. :?
