This is the reason that I wasn't at Trax today, did the above mentioned Rally at MOD Chertsey near Longcross.

To keep a long story short:

The car was brilliant and performed well, didn't have any real problems and didn't put a spanner on the car all day. Dan and my mate Colin had a fairly relaxing day servicing but did an excellent job and a big thank You to You both!!

I had some stunning dabbles throughout the day too, the best one being that I managed to keep a 260bhp 2.2 Millington Diamond powered Darrian T9 behind us for 4 miles 8) He didn't pass Me

We really did have some awesome dabbles with cars which should blown us away tbh :D

Had my best result so far too, 1st in class again but this time we finished 9th O/all :D I am as happy as a pig in shit, It doesn't get much better than this!!!

I did pull over twice today for the car that won the event outright though, it was a proper 2.5litre big powered 6R4, tried my dest to keep up with him once passed but boy was that car ever quick :o :( :o :(

NOT BAD!!!!! I was sweating my balls off in the process mate, I can honestly say it was the hardest 4 miles I've ever driven. On the edge stuff tbh.......Darrian driver said (Because of the number plate) "that goes really well for a 1600"

Two or three of the stages/dabbles yesterday were undoubtedly the biggest buzz I've ever had in a car, I'm still on a high this morning :D

:D

but isnt this "high" more expensive than drugs? lol

ive never really rated the darrians, but i guess if you were pushing uber hard and "on the edge" (which id assume is fooking scary lol) then they must be fast :D

well done russ, yet again your exceeding the expectations of a lowly 1400. i hope you put the darrian owner correct and informed him it was a 1400 not a 1600

Well done mate. THats impressive being in the top 10. Who was in the Darrian, was it Tregonning. HOw did Haydn do?

I was just about to ask whether it was Mike Tregonning aswell!!

Anyways, well done Russ on a cracking result again. Any ideas whether Smetharpe is a definite for you yet??

Well done.

haydn came in third overall :o (1.6 16v nova for those not in the know) He was absolutley flying all day, the bodywork needs a touch of tlc now lol but didnt slow him down at all. Berian put himself out early on by hitting a nice huge kerb on one bend just by the pit area, the rear wheel caught it then slammed the front on round into it breaking some parts, but he got it back running again and did a few stages in the afternoon.

No it wasn't Mike Tregoning, his is a 2.5 Millington Diamond Powered T90GTR :o

Not sure about Smeatharpe yet, will let You know if we do though.

Stu,

Darrian's are arguably the best 2wd tarmac rally cars available, they are basically 2 seater single seater racing cars. The one in question is actually Mine and Haydn's old car, it had a 2.4 when we owned it though, it's 810kg's and 260bhp now :o . It runs on proflex, 15" rims with 305mm ap 4 pots all round and handled demon when we owned it.

They really are amazing when set up right, I'd love to own one (Was halvers on the above one) but prob couldn't afford one for a good few years yet

A touch of tlc!!!!!!

Try a new wing, door, sill and rear quarter on the drivers side :o as well as a repair to all three pillars :o

But as said, it didn't slow him down

I remeber seeing a darrien on the Northwest stages earlier in the year, Jesus they don't half go some i'd never personally seen one before that and didnt think much of it till it flew past where we were marshalling :D

Sounds like theres some work to do on the escort and Haydn's car.

At least you came away from Colerne unscathed. You guys must have a load of spare panels painted white, all ready to go on the car. I suppose its the chance you got to take to get a high finishing position.

Well done guys anyway.

Berian's escort needs a minor repair, but Haydn's needs open heart surgery

Mine on the other hand needs a wash and wax and is ready for it's next event  Didn't put a scratch on it, again
