View Full Version : Astra Rear Disk.
Got the disks and hubs for the rear but i dunno how to fit them now though. Someone said the whole Astra Rear Beam fits, cant see it personally though.
You need to remove the nova stub axles from the nova beam, and mount the astra stub axles onto it! Be warned, you need to drill the PCD of the astra stubs ont the nova beam! It needs to be BOB on or u will have probs with alignment!
As for the Astra beam ont Nova! Its too wide IIRC mount points are further apart!
By the way! From ur other post! The "valve" ur on about is a restrictor valve at the master cylinder! need to put the astras rear valve onto the nova master cylinder!
AFAIK thats it! Hope that helps!
And anyoybody, if im wrong please correct!

I would angle grind the nova spacers off of the axle, and then weld on the cav/astra ones cut off that axle, Drilling them is a bit of a nightmare...and takes longer.

even if u cut and weld the spacers u still need to drill the nova axle but your only drilling a few mm of steel and have the spacer as a template

yeah. Weld the spacers on, the drill though the remainder.
Right, what exactly do you mean by the spacers? Did i take these off the Astra? If i drill out thee hole in the middle to fit the Astra, is it not a Matter of lining up the Holes and drilling out whatever ones dont match up?

when u remove the stub axle theres a thick metal plate welded onto the upright on the beam
the idea is instead of drilling the astras holes thru the nova beam (and thick metal plate) you grind the plate off the nova beam and weld the astra one on, so the holes on the plate are already correct only leaving the 1-2mm of steel that is the upright itself to drill thru rather than the upright and metal plate
take stub axle off and you'll see what we mean
I see what you mean Aragorn. I'll give it a shot then so. Cheers.
