Hi people, been one here once or twice but havent posted anything interesting.

BUT NOW i though id tell you about my recently finished Nova Rally Car.

Spec:
Blydenstein B+ big valve head with bronze valve guides.
Kent AST2 fast road/rally cam
Lightened and balanced bottom end
Janspeed manifold and system
Twin Weber 40's
Walden engineering competition engine mount kit
Quick Rack.
16v front brakes
Safety Devices Cage
Fibreglass bonnet

I have tried my best to do this on a budget. The Breakdown of costs is as follows

Head = ?120 Absolute bargain. Bought off a guy who didnt know what he had
cam+40's = ?60 Guy from NOvaload
LIghetning and balancing ?70 from Brian Wills Engineering, Newton Abbot
Engine=All ready built to put in the car ?517 Yeo and Smith, PLymouth
Engine mounts=?100 delivered
Rack = ?75 from EuroRallye
Cage (with doorbars)=?150 from ad in local paper
Bonnet=?110 from Protec motorsport
All other parts were on car i bought for ?500 from a mate

I think i have been genuinely very lucky to get the parts for these prices.

I didnt use any savings or bank loans, I just sold a load of nova parts, Compact discs, Tapes and Records on E Bay and used the funds to build the car.

So you CAN buld a competitive car on a budget, if you know where to look

are the bonnets you get double skinned. I shopped around and though i found the cheapest one. i wanted a bit more strength cos i got to keep changing it for the metal one for road rallying (bloody rules) and i wanted the one with captive bolts already on.

Mark 1 SR but with the spoiler and GTE skirts taken off. Painted in ultra sparkly alloy wheel paint.

Done loads of motorsport, mostly Autotesting, road rallies and Hillclimbs

Got first in class at my first ever sprint race held at a Go Kart Track at Smeatharpe, Devon.

Gonna do a lot more now the engine is quicker

Ill try to put some pics up soon

Its a lovely colour in the sun, really sparkles. I tried to keep it as standard looking as possible due to the rules and regulations of road rallying ie no spoilers, stickers and nothing that alters the silhouette of the car

Cheers Guys

After all whats the point of a car if you dont abuse it eh.

I used to be a spit and polish monkey, but have since grown up. Ages ago I used to have a 5 door Nova in bright red with full novadose bodykit and slammed, but that was in the past so dont hold it against me

If any of you guys want any help getting into motorsport ie road rallying, autotesting, Sprints and Hillclimbs, I may be able to point you in the right direction

Didnt have a very good day at Wiscombe Hillclimb. I decided to break 2nd gear syncro in the gearbox. So coming into the hairpins and changing down it was makin ell of a noise. Still, in my class i beat a NOva on 40's and a 1400 Tigra. At least i didnt come last
