NL MK Meeting & Karting Challenge!

Hello guys,

For those of you that don't know, Chris_16v shall be leaving the UK for a few months and we shall be having a send off in his honor. Rather than having just a big meeting, we have provisionally booked the Daytona Karting Track on November 19th in Milton Keynes.

For those of you that are new to the site, we have a yearly meeting in Milton Keynes around Christmas time. To avoid people making two trips we shall be combining the Annual MK meeting with the Karting.

I have already been in contact with Daytona and they have provisionally booked us a slot for a 5pm start time on November 19th. This means we will need to get there at 4:30pm for the de-brief. This will work out better for everyone as as it allows people to get to MK for around 1/2pm, meet up for a couple of hours, then those that wish to participate can head over to the karting in the afternoon - those that are not participating, but wish to watch are more than welcome too.

The race that has been booked is a head to head (basically every man for themselves). However, we need a minimum of 20 drivers and a maximum of 30 at a cost of ?52.50 per driver. I know this isn't exactly cheap, but we have been given a 15% discount so it should have cost ?67.50 per driver.

What we get for this is a 10minute practice/qualifying session followed by a 40minute endurance race, which I can gaurantee is just about long enough, especially for a November evening, lol.

The first 3 places will get a trophey which will be engraved with "The Chris Fairwell Challenge" :)

As said, we have been pencilled in for this date, but I need to collect a 50% deposit between now and the 22nd September!

If we can get 20 people or more and everyone sends me half of the money now and half when we get there it won't eat into your bank balance as much :)

So what does everyone think? We can start off with the usual meeting at Willen Lake, then head over to Daytona where we will have the track to ourselves, get tropheys at the end and will finally be able to say who the best NL karting driver is :wink:

Remember, the MK meeting will still take place on this date so those of you that made it last year, rather than pissing ?50 up the wall on a night out, why not join the karting challenge?

Hmmm, you lot are a tough crowd. Come on peeps, it'll be a laugh. As for doing the karting then a 100mile trip...there were quite a few of us that made it to the York Karting challenge a few months back. For me it was nearly 400miles there and back all in. I suppose some people have the stamina though... :roll: :wink:

Mel, this track provides everyone with a bit more room, so there is no excuse for Chris to use the kart in front as his brakes - the marshalls are a lot better too!

The track is just under 1 mile long and the longest in the country at the moment...

It depends if they are members of the site or not. I can put them down as a provisional if any of the other members can't make it, but what I don't want to happen is for people to bring along their pro-karting champion mates when really this event is for Novaload members and is suppose to be a bit of fun and to get people from the forum to know each other a bit better.

Remember, the karting is the secondary event to what is suppose to be a Nova meeting.

the track looks fooking awesome!!!! 1000 times better than the indoor one we did a while back... long openish track so some high speed antics will ensue im sure.

oh yeah and i had to try the facilities.... food is great :D lol

Believe me Benji, Rain along with the cold temperature of the November evening will turn the track into an ice rink. I have driven the track in these conditions and it wasn't fun. Everyone was spinning off, even at slow speeds.
