I have every intention of taking the revver to Santa pod on this date to see what She does on the 1/4mile, realistically this is going to be My swansong event for the car as If I move home in the near future She will go up for sale after this meet. :(
I've spoken to Stuart to try and drum up some interest/numbers to possibly run their cars as well.
Looks like Stu will be running his on the day
Now I know we'll be chancing the weather at that time of year but I am certainly not bothered about that tbh.... Yes optimum times won't be achieved if it's wet but we'd still have direct comparisons to the cars present on the day.
Obvious people who would be the benchmark if it's wet/damp would be people that have run before, Dan, Dhdev, benji etc... (You know who you are)
Therefore I'd like to get as many of us there as possible, also it would be our NL end of year get together.
Anybody fancy it??
i might be tempted, although it's kels birthday that weekend so i'll have to see
if mines still alive from more abuse then i might come along for some winter banter (dont panic i'm not joining the parts trend). Although if its wet they wont let you run anyway. Only let you run if they can dry the track out with their big hairdrier. if not the money you paid to get in gets you access on a future event. Conditions wont be an issue for those of us that dont have to much power and just screw the car for all they have to get a result ;)

If my car survives the ring then I'll definately be up for this.
Hope I'll have my new nitrous kit fitted by then and I'l be hoping for 12's if all goes well.

Saturday Night Special
Santa Pod's first "Saturday Night Special" was held on Saturday 19th February, and it proved to be a massive success with all who attended. The thrill of racing in the dark is an assault to the senses, and the sounds and smells of racing are intensified by the night air. All types of vehicles were in attendance, from hot rods to hot hatches, and also a few bikes and dragsters made the most of the dry evening and great atmosphere.
The February event was such a success that we have scheduled another Saturday Night Special on Saturday October 15th. Please note, this is not listed on our printed calendars, but has been scheduled due to public demand. Experience the thrill of night racing with additional attractions such as a 270mph Jet Car, sideshows, Bar & Music and catering. There is free camping for those wanting to stay over for the Sunday Run What Ya Brung, and of course all cars, bikes and clubs are welcome!
Gates open Sat 15th Oct at 8am
Racing will continue until 9pm, track and weather conditions permitting.
Signing on costs the normal ?15 per driver per day for unlimited runs. <----
Driving License required.
Entry costs ?10 for a full-day ticket and ?20 for a two-day ticket
Free camping with two-day tickets.
Next Saturday Night Special is on October 15th 2005
Stick it in your calendars!

Should have come looks like the weather turned out to be alright dam and blast doh!
Any good times?
Weather?
Busy?
went to come down this mornin and as per usual with my nova the coil had gone allways somethin to stop me cummin down
Got the Nova all ready hoping to shave a few tenths of a second off my best.
Turns out i managed to shave 1 tenth off.
Gay!
She did feel a lot quicker though, but i was spinning in first second and third which is ridiculous! The strip was ludicrously slippery, I was getting ten times more grip on the return slip road, and its starting to get a bit rutted, a few bikers had some near misses and i could feel the car wandering about a bit.
A diff has gone to the top of my shopping list again, may purchase one next month, along with a Tune because she coked up a set of plugs.
Nice to see Stuart, who unfortunately couldnt run his tractor becauser of a popped rad.. We had a good giggle when it started spurting water everywhere in Destruction Derby style LOL
Anyway, my times (which at least were consistent!)
14.569 @ 101.13
14.437 @ 101.78
14.611 @ 99.76
14.921 @ 79.21
14.382 @ 101.13
14.454 @ 100.20
You can tell by my terminal speed that i should have been a lot quicker, as my previous best was a 14.417 @ 97.5!
w00t.... the rad seems to be leaking much much less now. but ill bung another wedge of radeweld in tomorrow lol.
was a "good" day. ps all of you who replied and didnt show, migth be banned lmao.
nothing was particularly suprising, bar the Ultima running 12's and the Nitroused TD astra running 15's lmao. oh and the split screen camper running mid 15's with a non turbo engine lol.
there was a total lack of traction, there was a manual monaro that got wheel spin on the change to 4th near the finish line lmao.
ded you manage to get any pics?
got a few, but i cant be arsed to dig them out yet lol
I nipped over after lunch to have a look see but it was as I expected - no really stand out special times. This really showed for anything that was only 2 wheel drive. The 4*4's seem to be getting away pretty much as well as usual. It was just too cold and damp - the dew was still on the grass to a fair degree at lunch time. It rained a bit mid afternoon as well :(
Weather wasn't too good after lunch but turned out ok till the end
my times got better and better throughout the afternoon, got some 13.2's then a 13 dead,
I really dont push the car hard off the line but I'm still doing 2.012 60ft so I need to improve the launch as I should be able to get a 1.9 60ft with less wheelspin so I can go onto get a 12,
wasn't too bad as it was the first time I had used this nitrous kit, so a little bit more time playing with jets should see it into the 12's without a problem

very slippery off of the line this weekend.
I only manages a 14.3 1/4. May be the 14's with low pro's are a little small for lauches on that surface.
Brilliant day though. Best RWYB I've ever been to anyway.
