Temp guage on dash doesnt work

Hi all,

Got a digidash fitted by previous owner.

The temp guage dont register - until the car is warm - then it sometimes (mostly when stood still on my sloped drive) blips to full then off - then stops.

Any ideas what this is? Is the sender buggered? Or could the cable just be loose / badly earthed?

Silly question - where is the temp sender in the engine for a 91 GSi - E16SE engine?

Haynes? lol - "on 1.0 models look ..." and "on 1.3 models look ..." no mention of the 1.6 at all!

And im mostly clueless with engines - so I have no clue!

Really just wanna know if peeps think its the sender in the engine bay thats at fault.
