running my 1.4 sri engine on 17's and its really cut power down from when i had 15s problem is now .the car is to low to put anything smaller than 17's on so any tips on getting my engine back up 2 speed

Umm it sound as if you have the incorect tyre size on the wheels,as the over all dai should be the same, EG 195.50.15 should work out about the same as a 205.40.17 i belive thats right,so there realy should be no difrence unless the tyres the wrong profile??

im running 205/45/15 put it against my old wheel and theres around an inch of a difference

Thats it then mate,they should be 40 profiles,it liek runing 18-19 etc the gerbox was never set to run a wheel with such a big dia,so in turn you slow the gearing down,though this will make your top end bigger :wink:

its the less accelaration thats getting to me used to be able to out do my m8s saxo now im way behind him

I hate to use the word 'cheap' but cheaper 17's are so much heavier than expensive ones and its probly this more than the diameter thats sucking power. A nice light 17 inch wheel should actually give slightly better performance.
