OK, so my new rims arrived yesterday. But.......................

The dude on the fone assured that if i have had my arches done they will fall straight on.

NO

Now, 3 out of 4 aint bad. But the rear drivers side dont fit. The rims are 205, 45,17 with a ET45 offset. I know I know, 17"s on a nova. but others have done it.

The beast is booked in on tuesday to be looked at, but................

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???

So you've had your arch's rolled? What width are the wheels? 7 1/2"?

Are they rubbing by a lot or only just catching?

205/40/17 on falkens as there a slim tyre.so if ur arches have been rolled or cut right of they should fit. 8)

any 205/40/17 tyre will fit under nova rolled arches and check the yellow nova in my feature, one pic shows how low you can go on 17s!

The rims are 205
like riggy said the tyres are the problem, 205's never go on novas well. The best for a nova 195 anything more an your just going to get no end of trouble from it. But saying that i know one person thats got the same on his slammed to the deck on coilovers an it doesnt catch at all. Not sure how he's done it.

I've never seen a 195 width tyre on a 17" alloy-i'm pretty sure 205 is as small as you can go :?

Anyway, i had 17's on my old gsi (i cut out the arch's, then wax oiled them), lowered 60mm and the offset was 40. Didn't rub atall, even with a car full of people! Tyre's were 205/40/17 aswell.

Depends on the width of the rim, a 7J width should have 205, but 6.5J etc can have 195.
I have 7J 16s, so same width as most 17s, and they have 195 tyres on.

everywhere makes 195/16 tyres but you carnt get 195/17 tyres, theres no such thing, it would work if sumwhere made them but they dont, best tyre for the 16" is 195/45/16 and best for 17" is the 205/40/17, both are fine on the correct offset.

They do, Pirelli Pzeros you can get in 195/40/17, and Continental.
