i recived this today from matt at PVG.

Hi Ben

Our Curborough National Sprint Day on Saturday September 24th is fast approaching. It's free to turn up and watch, but you must let me know via email as we can only except the first 50 cars for spectating.

To try out the sprint track, you must book through the members area of www.pvgevent.net

It costs just ?35 for unlimited runs throughout the afternoon, but please remember that only 35 places area available - so book soon.

All members taking part on track will have exclusive vehicle access to the paddock area.

The deadline for bookings is Friday September 9th. If I haven't received enough track bookings, the event will be cancelled and all money immediately returned to those that have booked. It's unfortunate that we have to do this, but the club has lost substantially amounts of money this year due to low turnouts.

basically the same as the last one but with added parking for spectators. last time was a good day, i've booked already for this one and i'll not be happy if it's cancelled so try and make the effort people. i know it's close to the ring trip for a few of you but it's only ?35 for the trackday so have a night off the beer and the money saved will get you a day on track.

as said above, the pvg has already lost money because of poor turnouts at the other 2 events this year, don't let this one be the same. it's a shame when someone offers cheap track time only for it to get snubbed, if they have to cancel this one theres a good chance curbrough won't offer any places for next year

even if your not a member of the pvg it's only ?6 to join, so thats ?41 for the day, still dead cheap. a day at most tracks around the country is ?150+

show some support

ben.

Thats 3 now.
I'am booked.
Any idea if were using the short circuit like last time or the full circuit. Full circuit would be good this time, get some good speed down the sweeping straight.

Cheers

Is it only open to Vauxhalls? If not I think I could boost the figures a bit.

Well I've just rejoined the PVG after a 3 year break from leaving the PNG.

Engines out at the moment...hopefully sorted for trax, but will have to see if its good to go for this. Will hopefully book up next week once I know the cars all sorted!

it's vaux only i think mate, but if you email matt @ pvg je will let you know. it will probably be a case of letting you book non vauxhalls if they can't fill it

im not on the track due to having to SORN the nova and get a saloon for work purposes, and i wont be able to get a tow bar on it and get a trailor in time, but ive offered to pay for a place anyway to save it from cancellation if the numbers are Low.

Come on guys, it will be a great social event as well as a cracking day on track,

I won't be able to make this as I'm away on holiday. Not that my car is suited to short tracks as Llandow proved.

Spoke to Matt brifly at Trax yesterday and the responce has been really poor for this.
He needs at least another 10 to sign up or it WILL be cancelled.
Last year it was a really good afternoon and everbody raved how much they enjoyed it so come on get your names down.
Iam sure those who tracked their cars at Silverstone yesterday will be well keen for some more action.

I sent the guy an email asking if he would consider non Vauxhall cars, because if he will I reckon I could get another five or six cars there.

just recived this.

Dear ben curry,

PVG (UK & Europe) Ltd. (pvgevents@mac.com) has issued you a full or partial refund for your payment.

Message from Seller:
Event cancelled due to lack of interest.

Thanks for your support.

i hope this isn't the last we hear of the pvg doing events like this. looks like people don't know a good deal when it's staring them in the face

nathan.

Agreed Ben! It fookin sucks.

Stuart
10-09-05, 09:27 AM
or people dont have their cars finished/they are selling up and the "new" generation of modders have no idea what a track day is.....

Adam Moran
10-09-05, 09:41 AM
This is a great shame

The problem they have is hardly anyone knows about PVG.

There are loads and loads of Vauxhall owners around the country who would be very interested in this sort of thing.

Its all about there HUGE lack of marketing!

TBH at all the car shows they should put flyers on all the vauxhalls

Do they advertise on the car mags??

I know this lot would cost money but tbh we only pay ?6 as it is, i wouldnt have a problem paying ?20 a year IF there were more events (and they actually happened)

Just my view of things..

scott.parker
10-09-05, 09:46 AM
I had the same email as well,i was a bit gutted to get the refund,as last time i whent there it was a realy good day,i was looking forward to this one, well maybe with my luck of late its not such a bad idea to leave the car alone for a few weeks

Real shame though...

Big Big shame that is. I too received the email and wasn't happy on reading it (well, i was as i now have ?35 more in my account) but thats not the point.

Hopefully another oppurtunity will come up soon.

how can the png do it so cheap..... sounds like a last ditch effort to save the club

10-09-05, 06:25 PM
Just been on mig and I think they've deleted the topic?

mig doesnt like any other car forums advertising on their site.

they even stopped all links in sigs if they went through to other sites as its classed as 'competition'

also i am hoping the pvg site will have lots more members as its a very knowledgeable site if you want to tune up your cars for track days etc, there just seems to be a bit of a slow connection between admin and members at the min due to house moves and babies :D

benji
10-09-05, 06:27 PM
they did it at what it cost's them to hire the track, and even if they didn't get the 30 people needed to cover the cost they would of still gone ahead with 20 people and the club would of paid for it

MARTIN KELSON
10-09-05, 07:24 PM
I cant believe when you read posts on various topics the amount of people who say there keen for track days, but when one is offered for such a small amount of money nomebody interested.
I would't be supprised if Matt calls it a day now, after speaking to him last week it sounded like he was fed up with trying to organise stuff but not getting the responce he deserves.

Look forward to getting to work monday to read my e-mail.......not!!

Really disapointed this was such a good day last year.

Exactly, I even offered to pay for a slot if it got close, even though i couldnt attend, just a little thing I call 'support for my club', the same as at shows I am on the PVG stand, not somewhere else, which a few members are guilty of.

We have 500 paid up members. Where the fuck are they??????????????????

Stuart
10-09-05, 07:27 PM
almost as bad as people saying they will Kart and not getting in contact with organisers to pay...

its the getting cash out of people thats hard....

i would ahve booked if my nova was finished, but i learnt from last time not to book before its even run lol

I really fancy this, ?41 is a bargain , the only thing worryingme is that I have the ring trip to do and before that I've still got to run my new engine in

I've done the first 200 miles in it tonight !

As I'm not a member where to I register and book up, as I can take another nova if mine has any problems after the ring trip

benji
11-09-05, 11:24 AM
it's been cancelled now mate
