started wiring up my electric windows today,had to make my own loom up for them,got everythign sorted but got one problem the windows only go one way and when u press down on the switch it blows a fuse n the cable sparks its got a good earth just cant figure it out,the only way to get the window up is to swap round the cables round on the motor,any help apretiated

i would guess that the way that you have wired up the switch is causing the problem.

Must be that. The wiring is quite easy but you should have test it before. There is a proper circuit tester that wont arm anything, try to get one (very cheap).
You probably got the wiring wrong, just work on that.

are the switches defo for a nova? I tried using switches that looked the same from a calton and they didnt work.

you must ensure theyre wired up wright or the fuses will blow - get a haynes manual and look at the wiring diagrams - theyre (after a while) easy to follow.

I used Fiat switches...you can use any switches as long as they work.
