Engine swap help

hi there, i have a vauxhall nova 1.2 merit, and am lookin to get a 1.4sr engine for it, was jus wandering wat exactly i will need from the sr to do this, engine wise? Plz let me know, Thanks, Luke

well mate there

engine & box - make sure you get all the pipes for the autochoke /heater matrix aswell

dizzy & coil - these are needed as the 1.2 items wont fit

thats all you need to get it running



but id also recommmed

the rad - have a look if yours is sat on stilts - if it is get the bigger sr version
brakes - since your are upgrading your power , you need to help it stop - now although the 1.2 & 1.4 brakes are the same , I think you should upgrade to sri/gte/gsi minimun but 2.016v ideally


when all the engine is in

on the coil there is 3 wires green/black/brown
the green is for a rev counter (not needed if you dont have one )
the brown is earth (use g box earth point)
the black is you ig power (join this to the black wire from your old coil

then there is a yellow and black wire tapped up near the starter wires - this is for the auto choke :lol: :lol:
