Engine set up

hey guys.

i needed to replace my head on my 1400. instead of putting a 1400 head on i am thinking about putting a 1200 head in and keeping everything else the same.

firstly...
can i do this without changing anything else?

and secondly...

what will this do to my engine..... performance wise?

that will give you more power, just keep everythin else 1.4, shouldnt need anythin tuning in, maybe your carb, jus take it down to ur local mot station and get them to adjust you CO mixture setting

you would need to find a 1.3 inlet manifold and then fit your 1.4 carb to that

yeah get a 1.3 manifold so that the ports on the manifold and the head match up

ok so i wont be able to run my car unless i get a 1300 manifold?

you will be able to run it, but it wont run to its optimum as the ports on the 1.2 and 1.3 head and inlets are round and the 1.4 are square and wont match up correctly

no the carb is all good, like i say the only thing that may need adjusting would be the CO mixture, and u can get an MOT station to do that for ya
