As Stu said.
Make sure the handbrake is off, undo the hub nut, and they will fall off, mine did anyway.
Also make sure you keep you finger on the washer/taper bearing in the centre of the drum else it fails out and rolls down your drive

put the wheel back on and use two bolts to hold it on (finger tight is ok) then use the wheel as a hub puller

Yes, but the front ones are 30mm, so perhaps he mixed them up by accident ;) - don't worry Riggy, i'll cover for ya ;)

I love it when Vauxhall do this as I wanted to remove the castle nut on the fronts and thought "I'll use my 24mm socket that I got for the rears...Oh...It's 30mm at the front...Thanks vauxhall!"

the ones on me astra are great only a phillips head screw!
had to gently tap the cover off with a hammer though as it wasn't bidging easily

they an some times be a bitch to get off if you havent had them off for a while. They create a lip and getting the shoes past that can be hard. But a big screw driver should pop it off

they only fitted the manual adjusters to them for the first 2 years of production

then they changed to an autoadjusting system

there.s a hole in the backplate to poke a small spike though which releases the auto adjuster to its minimum, makes the shoes spring away from the drum. 8)
