is it ilegal to drive with out a spare tyre
i THINK its not illegal to drive without a spare but it is to drive with a bald one or a spare with an illegal tyre for example

yeah its one of those stupid laws.
You don't have to have a spare but if you do it has to be legal. (tread etc).

Denny's right. You'll fail an MOT for having a bald tyre - but if you take it out, its not against the regulations to not have one so you'll be ok. I'm not sure as to the actual law on having a bald spare tyre in your car, if you were to get pulled over; all the references I've found always say "road wheels", but not whether the spare constitutes a "road wheel". If it does, then you could get 3pts and a fine for having a bald spare tyre.

yeah then have another 6pts for dangerous driving after you lobed the wheel though his window :lol:
