idle problems

my car idles at 3k and i wuz wondering wot it is? an ideas, idle control valve stuck?

Try simple things, like the vacume pipes, see if any are off or if they're cracked. Make sure everythings tight and theres no air leaking from anywhere. If they're all ok, try the Controll valve.

Is it just recently its started? You done anything to the engine lately?

iv trryed most things, ill have another look and then change the valve.

aint acctuly dont it yet but can an idle control valve make it rev to 5.5k? coz that wot its doing now.

what engine is it for a start? On my 1400 my cable sometimes jammed whn i booted it holding it about 6k

have you got T40's on? If so then you won't have an icv.

its a x16xe, i put it on a fault code reader and it sed high voltage to the map sensor,tps and icv.jst now i unpluged the map sensor and it went back to normal idle speed, bit chuggy tho. wen i put it back in it revs back to about 5k, i change the icv yesterday and it made no difference. any thought on this?

rob im having the same prob as you mate! ive changed the icv checked hoses and connections mine revs at about 1500 rpm then all of a sudden drops to normal and then goes back up again!

it was tps! i got a pin data book and checked ever wire from the ecu, the volted was all messed up,i change it which wasn't as bad a job as i thought. if u give me ur email addy ill try and send ur the pages.
