Right, absolute noob here, just bought a k reg 1.2 merit 3 door. Im guessing this is a mk2...........?

I like the subtle look so instead of over the top bumpers etc id like to just put gsi or gte bumpers, side skirts, spoiler and alloys on it.

Will anyone explain or post pics to show me the gte, and gsi and the differences, thanks.

Also what else is needed on exterior to make it a gte or gsi lookalike?

Thanks.

with urs being a mk2, ull be goin for a gsi-look/replica. The gte is the range topper mark 1 shape, the gsi is the top mark 2 shape. So now u want info on just gsi's... Click on the Home Screen page, Features (left hand side of screen) then Gsi's. Sorted.

Obviously a few of these have had some minor cosmetic changes (wheels, lowered etc) but i've tried to find some that look relatively standard, bodywork wise....

GSI (Mk2, H-K reg 1.6)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2938
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2938big.jpg
Note the bumper is painted and different style to a std Mk2 item. Also note the small rooftip Mk2 spoiler

SRi (Mk2, J-K reg 1.4)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2730
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2730big.jpg
Note the bumper is normal black plastic and the same as a std Mk2. Also features the same spoiler as a GSi.

GTE (Mk1, E-H reg 1.6)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2427
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2427big3.jpg
Note painted GTE/SR bumpers, rear bumper also has a larger lower valance over the SR ones

1.3SR Phase 2 (Mk1, E-H reg 1.3)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2773
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2773big.jpg
Note bumpers the same as GTE, but in plastic (and rear has a smaller valance than GTE item)

1.3SR Phase 1 (Mk1, A-D reg 1.3)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2600
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2600big2.jpg
Note the one-piece front bumper

1.4SR (Mk1 & 2, H-J reg 1.4)
Mk2: http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2396
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2396big3.jpg

Mk1: http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=1511
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/1511big3.jpg

And as a comparison to the "standard" range:
1.2 Mk1 Phase 1 (A-D reg 1.2)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=1368
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/1368big2.jpg
Again, note the one-piece front bumper

1.2 Mk1 Phase 2 (E-H reg)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2707
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2387big.jpg
Note two-piece bumper. Grille can easily be swapped for SR item

1.2 Mk2 (H-K reg 1.2)
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2707
http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2707big.jpg
Note this is a Luxe+ model, so has the coloured wing mirrors. Also note that early Mk2's (mostly J, some H reg) were carbed 1.2 engines, whilst most later ones (mostly K, some J reg) were injection 1.2 engines.

Those last three were the hardest to dig up, lol every bloody 1.2 is modified (http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=1020)!
