Harnesses

i was going to fit some harnesses to my nova but before i do i was just wondering if there was any other way that you could put them in without interffeering (spell?) with the back seats. i want harnesses but i also want to be able to have passengers in the back.

there used to be an escort in my area and he had his harnesses coming out of the top of his seat, then crossing over each other then bolted to the sides of his seats meaning he could still have the use of the rear seats!

would this pass an MOT though?

I'm assuming in that pic they use the mounting points for the original seatbelt buckles?

yup.. just put the standard belts in with the eye bolts... the middle belt is pointless anyway so take it out... 5peeps in a nova is just stupid

2 is about the max ammount of people that you want in a nova lol.


it kind of begs a silly question as to why youd want harnesses without bucket/race seats, and then with buckets you can really get in the back easily so youd not need rear seats........

I'm with you on the crazy thinking, lol. Sorry, but I think harnesses with normal seats looks daft in a Nova.

i used to have me harnesses like that, but i hit the back of another cr at some traffic lights and my seat nearly snapped! so i got some proper buckets and put harnesses to the top seatbelt mounts in te back (on the c pillar)

LAST OF THE NOVA SR'S-Hmm, i think that is dangerous attaching them to the pillar, as it aint as strong as the floor mounts, and i read that the pillar can collapse/bend in a crash with the force of the harness pulling on it.
It may have been another place tho, but im sure it was the pillar.
