After the head went on chelles 1.4 SR for the second time in 8 months ive decided to put a 1.2 head on (due to it being the only head i could find round the scrapyards). Just basically wanting to know which lifters etc to use with the head or are they both the same?? i will be using the 1.4 cam.
cheers

you'll need the 1.3sr inlet manifold as the 1.2 head has different shape ports compared to the 1.4 head.

how bad is your head andy

cant you just get it skimmed or have you burnt a valve out again

the 1.4 has a hump in the piston exactly under the inlet valve if you use a 1.3/ 1.2 head

You MUST measure the valve to piston clearance.

fingers crossed the head is ok, its comming off later on so ill find out later. the reason i bought another head was because i thought the original head was cracked due to there being absolutely tons of steam comming out the exhaust and also water comming out of the side of the exhaust manifold :o . will have to see later on anyway, if not ive got a temporary solution of using a 1.4SPi head and inlet until i can get a 1.3 inlet for the 1.2 head
thanks for all ur help
