engine bay please help

could any one help me out .Ive just took out my engine and gear box.and Im just about too start on the welding (not too much)what is the best thing too use on the engine bay too paint.been thinking off painting it with grey underseal and then paint it black do you think it would pass a mot ok thanks again rosco

the mot station arent going to worry how youve painted it, as long as its strong then it should be a problem
