Some of you must have seen this show.........?? It kills pimp my ride ( and the uk version looks like its mechanics are the ugliest gay hairdressers on the globe ) the motors are just awesome and the end of the show when the car is handed back to its owner totally rebiult and modded ( without their knowledge - they thought it was stolen ) it really gets emotional.....There is only one thing to say really - " Oi , Foose - please overhaul my ride "!!

best thing about overhauling is they do the engine as well as the body work and interior,

with pimp my ride u've still got the same shitty old enginge in thecar when u drive off!

Thay actually rebuild the cars from the ground up whereas in PMR they just fil the cars with filler and fit a load of tacky shite to them .
Anyone see the Dodge Challenger they did last night, the thing was just unbelievable!!

Mart , I couldnt agree more mate , that challenger was nothing short of sheer class , did you see its owner nearly collapse when they returned it ?? I,ve seen several episodes ( its on at 11 pm - will find the channel and report back ) and goes on for an hour . The only thing I dont like about it is the female presenters gravel like voice - and shes a smug split arse n all. But the cars are fab and totally rebuilt. Pimp my ride do nothing to the guts of the motor , just tart it up and MAYBE lower the thing. As for the presenters of pmr x is ok but that westwood chappie needs a bloody good spell in the army. Is he related to Magnus Pike ( 70s scientist who waved his arms around on his lectures he nearly went airborne ) and shouted a lot ?? I,ll find the channel for yas , its an hour long , and I fear like me most of you will lie awake till at least 1 am after watching it , an struggle to get up in the morning....The chief mod guy Chi p Foose makes you feel very humble - that man is extremely talented - even his pre-work sketches are a work of art .

it was a dodge challenger RT, lime green with a mat black bonnet, with matt black graphics down the side, bit shabby

ohh it also had a hideous spoiler on the boot lid

im sorry but they killed that challenger, some of the others tyhey have done have been very nice indeed. But i think that one looks like its trying to be modern when it clearly isnt.

I've not seen a bad one there yet. Every car gets stripped, blasted and rebuilt from the ground up with as many new & uprated parts possable.

^ Yep. IMO it looks terrible. If I didn't know better I'd have said that had come off Pimp My Ride. I mean look at those wheels!!! WTF!! And they've got the wrong stripe down the side, R/T's didn't have the dashed line like that.... bleh!

Is that the same shade of green as it started? Looks a bit vivid to be Sublime iirc

Does everything have to be exactly as it left the factory? These are Hot-rods we're talking about, the whole idea is they get modified using the owners specific ideas as well as restored. If you think that looks like something pimp my ride has done I suggest you watch the episode, you will soon realise its on another planet as far as quality goes.

If you look back, I said I hadn't seen the program, so was only commenting on the end result, i.e. the pictures that were posted. I never said it had to be exactly as it left the factory, but its a bit too OTT for my liking. I pointed out the oversized chrome rims were too "bling" (hence the connection to Pimp My Ride) for my tastes. Anyway, I read "restore" as to return something to its original working state, hence why I was surprised at the pics.

One thing I,ll never forget with that episode was when a prank meeting was called with the owner and he was shown pics of it in bits by an actor posing as the feds....after he,d left poor beggar got into his motor and blubbed like a baby....

Overhaulin' leaves PMR for dust! The program is a work of art and Chip Foose is amazing! I've got the whole first series on DVD boxset and its sheer genius! And its all done in a genuine 7 days!!

The boxset came from www.amazon.com or .co.uk i do believe! It is in Region 1 (American format) but if you've got a multi region DVD player, then Bob's your uncle!
