well me and my mate bought that 1.4SR that was for sale, for ?90
and it was toooo slow, so it threw a new engine into it :D

1.6 GSI Engine :grin:

Looks good ste for 90 quid. I saw that on ebay a while ago and was considering it untill i noticed all the paint was missing in the engine bay. Is it just surface rust or what is it a clean shell?

its not that bad, its only a runabout till my mates 205 gti's finished....

just bits here and there that need sorting

Good to see my old engine lives on. Did you manage to fit and wire the fuel tank in too or still running pump in engine bay for now?

wahey .. lovelly pics ste .. how come my heads in em all n ur doin no work pmsl ..

Ai lee .. runs like a dream.. needs a new accelerator cable tho and a track rod end some lil bits .. other than that its mint ..

cars not quite as clean as it looks unfortunatly rear arches a lil rusty dorrs dented and bonnet n N/S turret needs a lil repair .. other than a few bits of the usual rusts

SHE DONT HALF SHIFT for a 1.6 :D

havent checked em yet tbh ..

will ave a gander at weekend as wen we dropped the susp etc on the ramps with wheels on the N/S rear one got caught on the way down on the inside pmsl .. could jus be cos there not sposed to go down there but never no ..

quite simple really ..

*change tank n lines to injection one with pump etc

*change engine & box (complete with loom and ecu ) and wired it into existin loom.

tbh that was all pmsl .. engine etc slipped straight in tank went straight on .. and she fired straight up ..

kinda a proper bummer that .. no more units around oldham lad ?

found a number in eccles .. costs may be a lil higher due to area etc but doubt oldham lot gonna want to be ravellin ?

Don't want to be travelling that far every time I break my car, might have to go back to repairing and swapping engines on my street. Neighbours will love me again :?

well mots only uptill november .. so shes avin a good polish n matt black bumper/skirt recoat till then ..

then shes into the unit for some few changes / repairs ..

few weldin bits to clean up, a mk1 converted sr front end and bumpers

some audi doorhandled doors and a smooth boot n fresh lick of paint :D
