SR Steelies

The special black SR steelies that came on the mk 2 SR, did some come on the early GTE? I ask because mine are 5J wide and i need some wider ones, but id prefer to keep the same style. I need wider ones to fit 16v brakes under i think

Anyone who can tell me if this is possible would be a great help

Also if anyone has any wider ones to sell me it would be great

Pads were slightly worn though....

cav mk3 2.0 with the "16v" brakes had 5.5J 14" steels

as some have said they should fit under the sri ones even with new pads and disks

Lashednova-Looks a very close fit,lol.
Them SR wheels are 5J, well mine are any way.

I was also thinking whether they would fit as when i fit my 15s, i want the fit 16V brakes, and obviously one of the 14" SR wheels will be a spare, so needs to fit over the caliper if i get a punctuare.

I've been looking into this as well as i love those wheels.


The only way i can see to widen them is to cut out the centre and use a Vectra or new Astra Outer steel rim. Think they come in 6 or even 6.5 inch wide. Hopefully that way it wont affect the offset either. Gonna be a bitch to do though.

Its no problem if u have a puncture or somethin n have to put the spare on, ull just have to swap the front one for a back one n stick the spare on then back wont ya

And about the sizes someone told me cav brakes come in 236mm aswell and fit under maybe?

YEah, they are all 236mm, but gte etc are vented.
