Yes it will since there basically the same car

atleast they dont need a welder to put them back together.

and to be fair the GF's 106 hasnt missed a beat. ok i had to change the rear brake cylinders but most cars need them at some point......

Unfortunately i have had many a bad experience with cars AND vans made by our garlic snorting friends over the channel, and i shall never ever own another one EVER.

I also know that a lot of people love them, this is just my opinion.

What is the world coming to, were on the Novaload forum, and people are telling someone to ditch the GSi idea and keep the 106! I dont care if theyre a better car, we're enthusiasts, not clarkson wannabees!

its just a comparison between a gsi and a 106 so chill out

any way he's getting the GSI so what the hell does it matter

Am chilled, hence the  Just makes me laugh thats all. Cant really compare the two cars, theres 10 years between them and nearly double that design wise.

Mike.
27-07-05, 07:50 PM
not really the 106 came out just before the nova went i think, but don't get me wrong i love novas hence the reason i've got one

doesn't matter about the rust its part of the fun

Lee
27-07-05, 07:53 PM
Yeah, your right, but theres still a big gap between em in respect to design.

Your right, dealing with crap like rust IS half the fun. You see where im coming from then? It would be like someone on an Escort MK1 forum telling someone to go for a Mondeo instead because its better. S'not the point is it

Mike.
27-07-05, 07:58 PM
lol, i wasn't saying that he shouldn't get the gsi i was just saying that 106's weren't that bad

Na french cars just cost to much to run and get parts for, otherwise i would have had one of them 106 xsi straight away or maybe a quicksilver.

Only 106 i would have is either the GTI or rallye.

Saying that, If we lined up a lot of cars i doubt a nova would be on my list pmsl.

Are you speaking from experience here andy? You might find that they are fairly cheap to get parts for and readily available due to them sharing vvirtually all parts between Citroen on Peugeot.

I have had a couple of french cars (and own 2 at the moment) and they are good. For years they had the best diesel engines out (IMO) only just been overtaken by VAG, but they are very pricey indeed. Just my 2pence worth...

Do you think that could be because your 16 years old and live in Stockport? I don't mean to keep bringing this up, but you say some daft things. Of course it's going to cost you a shed load on insurance.

Same insurance group as a Nova GSi - group 11
Mind you any kind of insurance is gonna cost you a packet purley because of your age - I know it's annoying but that's the way it is I'm afraid.

i agree with chris, my dad has a pug 406 tdi and its a fantastic car, goes like stink and does 40+ mpg. on insurance ive just got quoted ?800 fully comp on my own being 19 with no no-claims, thats on a 1.2

ANDYRACER

Jim of course i know it would murder me on insurance and i don't actually live in Stockport i live on the outskirts and was just saying id like one but insurance is terrible.
And Chris my dad has a Renault 21 and compared to parts for VW and vauxhalls they are alot more expensive so yes from personal experience. Never said they were rubbish coz i think his car is a cracking car the 2.1 turbo diesel i rate as a very good engine after my dad owning it for 7 years it still doesnt miss abeat and has the power there when u need it. Also i have a few mates with the mk1 clios and general aprts are nearly double the price of vauxhall parts.

I could say that about alot of cars i could afford, a skyline an evo or an impreza although at 19 with 2yrs ncb I have no hope of insuring them!

ANDYRACER
29-07-05, 06:57 PM
Yeh but u also have no hope of affording one either, where as a corsa gsi is quite an affordable car.

Not if you can't afford to insure it.

I think what boredbloke is saying is, there are lots of cars that he'd like that he can't afford that are better than a corsa.

Should be, same engine

i did like the looks of the pug, but i already have 2 engines an 3 gearboxes. Pretty much all pugs have soft gearboxes, so it dont handle too much trashin. Another reason for selling was that it did always fall apart, but at least it didnt rust. The window fell out once. It went smash. And it handles shite in the wet.

after my dad owned french cars solidly whislt i grew up - They'e allways been alot easier and cheaper to obtain parts for than my nova.

tell me what parts you have bought for a vauxhall that are half the price of the clio parts ?

As most parts for a AX are universal through 205's, 106's e.t.c e.t.c

You find it hard to get parts for a nova?????

What planet are you on?
