as the engine bay is stripped down and ready to weld im replacing the steering rack as its buggered, was thinking about a quick rack but i no nothing about them apart from its less turns from lock to lock? what pros and cons do these have? and how much am i looking at to get one, fitment? il be running a 2.0xe lump on coilovers with speedlines if this makes any differance? cheers j

well when driving in the heat of the moment you wont have to take your hands off the wheel (bar gear changes) so you can keep better control and the less turns is more fun :)

you can get a kit, tis eay to fit but you ahve to take the rack off, anyway so for the sake of ?50 you may aswell get a pre assembled item.

looking at about ?140ish new, or if your lucky about ?90 used.

errr i know a bloke called Rob_S on mig used to sell them via rsc in scotland, tas are gone so no go..... hmm pass

the kit is a little fiddly to fit. but the complete rack is a piece of piss, 4 nuts to hold it onto the bulkhead, two nuts either end for the track rod ends and the 13mm bolt from the rubber UJ to pinon.

if you can find a complete used one dont look at any more than ?100, i got one for about ?85 i think, others on rally used parts are about ?90ish

Ive fitted a quick rack to my nova, and it makes a hell of a difference, it is more fun to drive, it isnt hard to fit and is deffinatly well worth it, you can get it from either Quaiffe but there is a wait for the right hand drive rack or harry hockley who has these in stock - 01686 628594 part No. N0904 ?99.90
