Depends wot u wanna do on that one mate cos u can turbo jus about anything these days, there was a mint sr with a turbo`d GTE/GSi engine in it in total vaux a few months bk, so its entirely up to you but ul get a LET engine in it pretty much no probs!!!!

You need a C20LET and a decent soldering iron, and be good at getting big things in small spaces

and what dose a c20let do

Snowface
26-07-05, 08:22 PM
basically its saying the engine is 2 litre Turbo Multi point injection.

The C20LET is what you would want in your nova rather then the Newer Z20LET.

and where could i get 1 from

Snowface

Calibra, Cavalier turbo 4x4.

Not sure when they changed the C20LET.

www.migweb.co.uk have loads of members with these engines so you would be beter off posting this on their forum.

Either a Calibra Turbo or a Cav Turbo.

Failing that, have a look on ebay.

would ether of them engines fit in a nova

Lee

they both have the same engine.

Lee

And yes, it fits in a nova with the same fitting kit used on the non turbo 2.0 16v. TYou just have to cram in a big radiator and a chargecooler / intercooler.

and a F28 ;)

Agree with you to a point, but an F20 is easier to get in, and takes a reasonable amount of abuse if you have a good one.

My mate has just built a LET nova with an F20 and a quaife LSD, and my 200 bhp XE is going through one as well.

but if i did that what loom would i use

Stuart

the LET loom and merge it into the nova loom

me thinks you need to do a looooootttttttttttttttt of research before even opening the bonnet ;)

ditto. Have a look throught the last 5-10 pages in Mig Technical.

and get some advise from people who have done it.

If youve never tackled anything like an engine conversion before, getting the engine in is going to be tough enough for you before you start worrying about looms.. You need to mod the offside chassis leg, drop the offside engine mount, and fully stich weld the engine bay for rigidity, and a HH plating kit will be essential for the LET. Then you have to think about the brakes, the suspension etc. Im not talking a 200 quid GMAX kit and some EBC pads, im talking at least V6 discs and callipers, and at least a courtenay suspension setup with 2.0 springs on the front. Uprated bushes are a must or your lower arms will flap around under all that power.

And all this before you tackle the extras concerned with a LET, such as a removeable front panel (not essential but youll be cursing later on if you dont), fitting in a hooge rad and plumbing in a charge cooler. And then wiring it up.

Im not trying to put you off, i'm just trying to put accross that its not a case of just 'dropping in a turbo lump', and unless you have a lot of confidence with a spanner, or have a lot of experienced mates around, your gonna struggle.

indeed. id have to think long and hard about a LET conversion and ive been messing about with cars/novas/hummvees/ tanks etc for sodding years........
