View Full Version : help with water pump bolts
ok in renewing the timing belt on my nova, got two of the bolts undone but one has been rounded off the last time someone done it, i have tried loads of way to try and get it off, mole grips, cutting a slot in it for a screw driver in, but still it wont budge
Any one got any ideas?
get a very small external easy out, eg a socket that got a drill bit style cut inside so as you undo it twists down and turns the bolt

I would have said before you started taking the enigne apart, to get it up to tempreture then loosen all the hard bolts so when you come to take them out they will be easy!! But thats not helping now is it!! Never heard of the thing Stu is talking about but it does sound good. You could also try get a blow torch on it to heat the block and stud up!!

give it a good hit square with a hammer a couple of times then use the mole grips

Heat it up with a blow lamp then whack an impact driver the little bugger.
