problems

just bought a car but it seems t like overheating i have changed the thermostat and the rad but it still does it any help would be apricated

or the head could have annealed and "collapsed" seen it on a few K-Series ally engines

Sell the Celicas RJ and buy a Nova instead. Or a 5 engined Fiesta Van. :lol:

the main fan is not kicking in could it be that the fan switch is broken

why dont u hard wire it a switch :D thats what my mate did on his fezza turbo

Give it a shot sure, the fan isn't working in my Nova either, i''ll be giving it a go soon as well!

ok your Celicas is over heating i've had one that i've worked on before that was a pain to solve it was the main fan not switching on it had a new rad as well all you need to do is hard wire the fan to check it's working if it is go by a new switch for the rad

one warning because the car over heated a few times the water pump went and the head gasit went
my addvice would be get the head gasit checked with a chemical test and if you car has don't more than 70,000 check the water pump any more q's let me know :)

1. Work out if it is really an ST185 or if you got shafted lol
2. If it is a GT4, get the right bonnet and fix the fan... how hot does it get? GT4s are known to get hot (especially if you're missing that vent)....

well i never got shafted as i got a new gearbox with it worth 300 quid so no matter what happens never shafted think it a gt-rc

Take the car back, phone thelad who sold it to you and tell him to come outside and run him down with it, then reverse over him again and really really politely ask for your money back. Go on, it'll work. :twisted:
