View Full Version : Anybody got a Pioneer (DEH-7700MP) headunit?
Just looking for some reviews on this (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3241.html) headunit. It looks pretty good and has some good features. Anybody got it? I want to check it'll fit in a MK2 dash okay before I buy it.
Also thinking of buying these Pioneer (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2498.html) speakers to replace my dash ones. Any thoughts/reviews on these?
Sorry for the lame questions, I just like to make sure I'm not wasting my money when I buy things like this. :P Cheers.
My mate has that HU in his 306 - very good item, no problems at all. Can't say for sure if it will fit a Mk2 but its a standard DIN size unit so there's no reason why it shouldn't fit.
I've also not had any problems with Pioneer speakers before, in fact my mate has that HU running thru a pair of Pioneer speakers in the front like those. Sounds good.

slapped a pair of pioneers in the front of mine - they were 4 inchers and a tight fit ...I did however glue a bung of foam sponge on the back to keep things tight and hopefully insulated , cos they were near the bulkhead , to fix em in secure , after cutting some of the cardboard location away ( to allow speaker cone movement ) I used zip ties to hold the lot in - no probs ....
Should have posted sooner :P I bought the speakers before you posted that, Aragorn. Didn't think a similar sized speaker would be a problem.
I did similarly to you, sickrabbit, and cut away the dash cardboard for the cone movement. I managed to get a screw through the cardbard and they feel pretty secure, although it's pretty much just one screw holding it in place.
