weber dcoe's are a old design which was supposedly improved on (copied) by dell'ortowhen they did the dhla. they are said to be better in the progression phase than webers. but webers are eaiser to come across parts for and more people specialise in them.

to be honest get whatever come up cheap, rebuild them then get them on a rolling road

Rolling roads will have parts for both. DHLA's jets go up in 120, 121, 122, 123, 124 etc.

Weber go up in 120, 125, 130.

So Dellorto's can be setup more accurately. But Webers are slightly more common. Parts are easy to come by for both.

Webers cam out in the 60's and Dellorto's in the 70's.

Power wise you won't notice any difference. Dellorto's would probably give you more Mpg as they have a 5-stage progression circuit, unless you are lucky to find a Universal Pair which are 3-stage.

as said, the Dellorto's an an "improved" design over the webbers, and are said to have better fuel atomisation characteristics.

To be honest, it really wont matter which you get.

Webber have gone bust (or so i heard ?), so parts may become harder to obtain ? or the carbs could go up in value (investment) ? but that's anyones guess
