i am currently building a 1600 turbo and my question, if anyone can help, is do i need to have my engine bay strengthened with a Harry Hockley kit or will stitch welding around the front struts be enough. the car is a 1.2 merit and the 1600 will have around 200 bhp+.

Yes - strengthen the whole lot if you plan on using 200hp in anger in it

yeah a kit is needed. i got a kit not too long ago, is it just me or are the instructions in the kits shite? will a mechanic/body shop know where all the bits go just by looking at the picture? ( coz there is no instructions)

search for a motorsport engineering company, or prehaps a classic car restorer as they will no doubt be used to doing tons and tons of welding lmfao

a place near me , Protec in preston would no doubt do it, they specialise in vauxhalls and prep rally cars
