View Full Version : Clio 182 Cup ...
A friend of mine who's has a few nova's in the past, then an Astra GTE got a Clio 182 CUP the other day.

for 182bhp in a small car, it's fairly fast - But due to it's refinedness you don't realise how quick it really is.
but I cannot comprehend how amazingly it handles, it grips and grips and grips round anything it's unbelieveable. it'l go round corners twice as fast as i'd dare in mine.
Definetly going to be the car that i buy to replace mine as a daily runner

Nice cars but that colour is awful and them stripes are terrible.
looks alright nick, you did mention that you wouldn't be having the nova as a daily driver, i'm i the only one that thinks the colour and the strips look ok lol
i love them, when kel finishes uni it will be a toss up between a cooper s or a 182. although i dont think she will ever part with our current clio
There are 2 ways the racing strips got there -
1 - some bored jobs worth council worker painter over the car when it was parked on a bit of road getting double yellows painted.
2 - it was parked in the middle of the road when a council line marker was laying "no overtaking" markers
3 - they make it go faster
4 - they make it look gay
5 - someone in Renaults "design" department rhought "oh la la - de stripes dey make de clio look good non? I will add some French Je nes sai qua (english for bolloxy stripes) to ze car to make it look loveelee!"
Trust the French to go all design on ya

that looks old for a 182, on a 53/2003.... think it might be a 172???
no it's a 182 - the 172 is the old shape clio.
The stripes are the same stripes on the real clio CUP racing car - so that's why they are there.
it's not a actual picture, just a googled one. My friends is a darker shade of blue and has no stripes.
But benji - Definetly recommend getting one, on the CUP (not sport) the handling is completly amazing is phenominal ! i really don't know how they have got it soooo good.
Speed wise, it's what you expect for 182bhp, but it makes up for that in other departments.
Mike - yer i think once the engine has gone in it's coming off the road probably , i have my eye on a very nice standard RS turbo..
i would have the sport mate. the cup don't have leather/aircon and all the other bits i would want, i have my nova for being uncomfortable in.

im sorry but it still looks imensely gay
i thought the 182's were 04 plate onwards..........
the sport is a fecking dull car with the only change to the cup being wider front track, lower sys and less weight. but still dull as feck inside lol.
they handle well but look god awful, and you have to rev the tits off the engien to keep it in the pwoer band.
if i was in the market for a brand new "sporty" car id opt for the Fiesta ST, as you can get it fully loaded and its not uber offensive to the eye (if you dont ahve the stripes)

The sport just looks girly and the twin exit exhausts are far too close together

there was a few st's at pod at the weekend, the quickest doing 16.3 lol not bad for a 2.0 16v.
they handle well but look god awful, and you have to rev the tits off the engien to keep it in the power band.
say's the guy who's fitting solid profile cams
yeah but you dont expect to have to rag the fcuk out of a modern 2.0 16V with VVt to get the power lol
and fun isnt in a straight line with regards to 1/4 mile times ;)
