Whenever i install any programs on xp pro, it wants to save to drive F:/. The thing is, i only have 1 drive. I think F:/ is the partition or something for windows as in my computer it says drive F:/ is 2.19 GB, while drive C:/ is 16.4GB. Also when i click on drive F:/ in my computer windows says that they are hidden files and should not be messed about with. Does anyone know a way to make my programs install to c:/ instead of me having to change the directory every time? I have just install pro so i might of done something wrong in setup. It limits every temp foler on my computer as there is only 400 something MB free space left on "drive f". I cant do much at all with the computer just now.
Thanks in advance

Right

When you installed windows, you'l have installed XP pro into the partition :F, and :C will be used to store music and files e.t.c

The idea behind this is that it makes scanning for Spyware, viruses alot quicker if your system files are partitioned off from personal files apparently. And it keeps all the "important" files away from mischeif.

the "warning" screen is just to stop chumps from deleting system files. so you can click show contents, as long as you don't do deleting things.

I think your problem is that when an automated installer installs a program they tend to automatically stick it in the Program files directory, which will be with your windows foder on the :F partition.

So you'l probably have to continue changing it over to the C: partition im afraid.

it's exactly the same as mine, but i have a Smaller 20gb partition :D for some of my music lol , and a 120gb partition C: with all the windows XP folders, program files e.t.c on - However it's full of music and DVD's now as well.
