View Full Version : Engine Cutting Out.
While thrashing over the back road the car's dash light up several times and cut out completely, its nothing to do with pot holes, seemed to be when i let off the throttle quickly. I tried all the wires and they were all tight enough. Then after a while the 2 engine lights lit up, turned off the car and let it free wheel and the lights went off. A while later they were back on. WTF??
What light?
The ECU light?
What engine is it? a 1400spi?

erm i think so! i have no idea what engine it is now, is it a 1L 24v now?
check the ign wires from coil to key, as i had a similar problem with the switches i bodged into my old nova, that it would cut out randomly etc.
Its 1400 spi, i think, its been changed that many times.
Its the 2 orange lights below the clocks, they light up and stay on unless i throw the car into neutral for a few seconds and then let out the clutch and start her again.

whats the picture on the lights?
One's the engine light and the other, the choke maybe? Its both the orange ones as you go to start the car, just before the car turns over.

well the only ones i have on when just about to start the car is
battery (redish) + oil (redish again) + choke (orange)
Right then, its the actual engine light and the choke light then so.
