Is it better as SPI or carbed?

The mechanic phoned me today, he got fed up, took off the ported head and the 270 cam and stuck on the STD 1400spi head and injection. The car wouldn't run right previous to this and the 1400 SR Carb inlet wouldn't cover the ports on the back of the head. Why, are they TOO big? Its a bit fucking annoying since i've spent so much time, money and effort on it.

lol the carbs have more power but you cant just bolt a carb inlet to a spi head as the ports are a different shape

what fuel tank are you using with your set up

if its spi just stick the cam back in and leave the carb and inlet off

Its a 1200 SPI Nova, everything at the moment, engine wise, is 14SPi.

Should i try fitting the cam to this engine, or fitting the ported head on the SPi set up without the cam? Together, they DONT work!!

what is your ported head for 1200i /1400i /sr

leave it all one or the other so in your case leave it spi

the cam should work with it

Its a 1400 SPi head and a race 270deg cam, which i found a bit too lumpy.

At the moment i'm just gonna leave it the way it is, but at least i'll have the ported head and the cam if i do wanna work them. I'll need to get a proper mechanic, fuck this Mickey Mouse Mechanic shit.

Sod the mechanic, do it yourself!
You will get more satisfaction then, as you can stand back and say " I did that" :)
