Kev Galloway (Aragorn to you and I) was involved in a road traffic accident involving his Nova on Tuesday.
Unfortunately his girlfriend who was a passneger in the car died instantly.

Kev's in a bad way and is still in hospital.
Thought I'd share the news with you seeing as how there's a post on MIG and the rumour will eventually get through here...
Here's a link to the news article of the accident - just incase anyone knows anything...

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Kev a quick recovery and offer him support.

Shit news. 'Knowing' Aragorn for some time, albeit online, I can confidently say both him and his girlfriend are victims of circumstance; the wrong place at the wrong time.

I'm in shock here, i've no idea what to say. Been chatting to Kev on MSN for almost a year now, he's been superb with advice on my engine, and always has an answer for my questions. I'm happy he's alive, but gutted his girlfriends died.
You never expect these things to happen to people you know. I hope you recover soon Kev, and altho i'm not very religious, i hope you find comfort in knowing Lindsey's in a better place now.
Get well soon bud!

Cheers for all the support guys, finally got out of hospital today so things are certainly getting there with the physical health
I really am gutted about linsey but as all my relatives have been telling me, time heals, and eventually i'll remember the good times we had and have "gotten over" this sad time. Me an linsey have been together for nearly a year and a half now, and in that time we had so many good experiances together, linsey was studying veterinary medicine at uni and i got really interested in it, i used to nag her any time she went to a placement to get me to come along. We went lambing together at easter which i absolutely loved and went horseriding for the first time a few weeks back and we had so many plans together both long term and short term. The fact that these plans will go unfulfilled is very hurtful for me, thaughts pop into my head and it reminds me of something we did, or were planning to do. I was building her a car and she'll never get to drive it, even the fact that she never saw my graduation photos is upsetting.
the great support both my family and frients and her family, her mum and dad, colin and liz and her brother campbell have given me has really helped me through this. They have all been very supportive and without that i dont know how i would have coped
Its linseys funeral tomorrow, so that will most likely be very upsetting for me and after that its the long road back to "normality" if it ever will as i'll never forget her.
the accident itself seemed a bit of a freak, i dont remember anything that went wrong, i remember entering the corner but family etc have tried to piece together what happened from skid marks and where the car landed. Basically the corners a double s bend thats quite shallow, most people drive right thru the middle of it, which i believe i did on the day, however what appears to have happened is on the exiting left hand apex ive been about 6" further over than i should have been, and the car got caught in a rut about 3" deep on the nearside of the road caused by farm traffic, ive hit the brakes and locked one wheel, the wheel in the rut having no traction, and the cars slid in a streight line towards the wall of farmers drive, at the last minute it looks like ive release the brakes in an effort to stop the skid and get the car out the rut but by this time im on the guys drive which is gravel and the cars hit the wall
obviously ive no idea of impact speed but judging by my injuries and comments from family etc who have visited the site i dont feel it was eccessive speed i feel its just been a series of events which has ended in such a tragic thing, me losing linsey and yet i only have a broken jaw
my injuries consisted of a broken jaw in 2 places, broken nose, broken cheek bone, broken collerbone and bruising from teh steeringwheel
will it be another nova? probably, i sat and flicked thru autotrader trying to find something i LIKED within my budget, (say a grand or so) and after musing of vectras, astras, civics, corsas and lots of crap cars i spotted a red 1.3sr and my head said "thats a smart car", the whole time i'd been reading the magasine it was the first car under about 7grand i;d said that to so i think it kinda shows how my thaughts are
anyway cheers again for the support, those of u i know a bit more personally i'll chat to ya on msn or whatever when your around
Kevin
Great to hear your on the mend mate.
hope you get better again soon -
it's great to see that your really looking ahead to the future, it's the worst thing that could happen but the worst response is to get stuck in the past.
its great news that your out of the hospital and you are recovering
its good to look to the future, and not dwell on the past, but i'm sure you won't forget linsey and that you think of the good times you had
Thats the spirit mate,
get back and get driving.
good luck for tomorrow and the future!
