Why are iPod adapters so expensive!?

I'm looking around for a replacement head unit, and I'm looking to attach my iPod (via Aux-in I believe). Why the hell are iPod adaptors so expensive?! For example, this Pioneer one (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3245.html). Are there any cheaper options?

no idea about that but can you not get an aux cable to go straight into ur headunit and just plug it into the headfone soket of ur ipod and use ur ipod that way? just a sugestion

yeh, ive got a lead that came free with my Alpine headunit. Just plugs into the AUX in, and then into the headphones socket of the iPod, not that ive got one lol

Good stuff. Controlling the iPod via the head-unit would be cool, but it sure isn't worth ?70! Thanks.
