Thought that it might be a bit lighter than the XE red top 2.0 16v

Has any one done this mod yet?Are there any kits out for it yet etc...?

If not I may have to try that after the 1300 turbo conversion!

Cheers

i dont know about the petrol but the 2.2TDI has the same mounts at the 2L16v so i know that can be done!

It has the mount for the middle of the chassis leg, but you could fabricate a bar to run to the frotn mounting possion I'm sure.

I've been thinking about this engine swap too, as the inlet points out the fornt and is gagging for some carbs to go on it, I imagine the exhaust manifodl woudl be a pain and heat sheilding it too.

In theory anything is possible. However, I think the wiring may cause more of a problem than actually getting the engine in the car.

plus the engine will be 10 times more expensive than the standard C20XE lump probably.

Thanks guys nice to know I'm not the only one thinking about this conversion!
The DTI lump is not a bad one our old lonner at bucking gave bk 18 even when ragging the tit's off it and thats a heavy new vectra shell!

year the control modual onto of engine may be a git to sort along with main ecu but sure some guys could sort that out!

Lets figure it out then all three of us do it and race!

the TDI chalenge!
