Exhaust system?!

Hi guys,

I have a blow in my exhaust system, my mate will get a brand new nova system, 1.2 1986 Mk1 (PRE-CAT!), for ?46.00 - no cost on Labour.

Question is, is it possible for a 1.6 GTE exhaust system to bolt straight onto a 1.2 head? Or does it just go from the downpipe back? ie, 1.2 exhaust manifold, 1.6GTE system the rest of the way? Also, does the 1.6GTE system physically run the same route beneath the car as the 1.2 system? Or are new brackets/rubbers needed?

if youwantagte system then you have to run from the head back and it will all bolt straight up

As above, to fit a gte system you would need a gte manifold and downpipe.

So i need a GTE manifold aswell as the full system, just to be sure - the GTE manifold DOES bolt onto the 1.2 head?

Is this worth doing? Would there be much of an improvement in speed/bhp or am I dreaming ;) ?

Yeah, all small block 8v have the same exhaust ports, so all manifolds fit.
