Got the engine back tonight from Steven Gault. And spend the night bolting on the gearbox, engine brackets, 40's and other bits n bobs. Ready to be fitted tomorrow morning (i got tuesday/wednesday off!)

New Spec:

Engine: 1300 SR Single OHC, Block cleaned and re-painted, Block Bored & honed to 1398cc, Crank sized and journals polished, Rods fitted with ARP competition big end bolts, New mains and big end bearings, End-float reset to middle limit, New Pistons balanced to within 0.1g of each other. Flywheel- substantially lightened and rebalanced along with whole rotating assembly, New oil pump (primed) New Water Pump. 1.3sr head - fitted with new guides, new valves, new Solid Lifters, head modified to Group A spec (+2mm inlet +1mm outlet big valves), re-cut valve seats, Kent uprated valve springs. Inlet manifold ported and Doweled to head. Weber 40DCOE151 Carbs with Weber Twin linkage & polished trumpets, Kent AST 17 Cam fitted with Piper alloy Vernier and timed on solid follower. New followers (non std) All alloy blasted to look new. Facet Silvertop competition fuel pump, king regulator/filter, braided fuel hose, Red anodised clips, STD new engine mounts, Blue Samaco silicone hose kit, Bailey header tank, Janspeed 4-1 Manifold, Magnex full SS System. F13 Close Ratio Gearbox with 4.18FD.

Looks stunning Keith! well for now anyway until you have done a few track days lol.

Cant wait to see it in the flesh. Good luck mate, bring on Germany, you should easily brake the 10's as long as you leave that handbrake alone!

Lmao, i only used the handbrake once, young chris made a big deal out of it, probably cos we ended up on the grass lmao!

I'm fitting a willwood brake bias too, so that should help from the discs locking!

Oh, and the engine will absolutely minging after the ring trip, i'm still finding dead flys and moths stuck everywhere!!

Fitted, plumbed, wired, suspension refitted and setup, running and test driven. All i can say is is sounds fooking immense, much better than its old spec.

the engine looks right at home mate in your engine bay will have to keep it clean and tidy no matter how long it takes :D

intresting to see the results. I know Steven thinks the ast 17 is a better cam then the ast2.
