Marc
11-07-05, 11:13 PM
it isnt that bad is it razor wot group are they?

Jack
11-07-05, 11:19 PM
The only ones classified as UK are a couple of R34 GTRs, and they're group 20 lol

The rest will all have the import % tacked on as well

Marc
11-07-05, 11:23 PM
wont be to bad i guess if you got plenty of no claims bonus lol

STE Novavanman
12-07-05, 06:03 PM
yeah but a nova with a c20let is the same insurance group plus mods

Marc
12-07-05, 10:37 PM
what would you rather have steve the skyline or the c20let nova or is that a silly question? lol

Jack

I've got 5 years and they were still insanely expensive, they also have the reputation of a "fast" car and are very desirable hence the expense :(

yeah but a nova with a c20let is the same insurance group plus mods
Calibra Turbo = 17 (18 for DTM), Chavalier Turbo = 17, Astra Turbo = 15-16

I'd have thought a Skyline would be more expensive than a LET Nova...

skyline is group 18-19 i think.depends which model it is. my freind used to have an r33 gts and the insurance company he was with told him they wouldnt insure anyone under 26 on a skyline, still cost him 3 grand in insurance and he was 29

Jack

20. Although thats only for the R34GTR, all other models are considered imports and don't come into the 1-20 scale (they're insurance group "G")

Marc

chirst 29 and 3 grand! it dont seem worth it some times but some people have more money than sence!

he was getting mugged off with that qoute.

I know someone with a skyline, he's 24 with 6 years no claims, and he wont tell me exactly, but he pays a very reasonable amount i.e under ?1000

It's a GT-S import - not the fastest, but it's still have 300bhp

Jack
13-07-05, 06:44 PM
GTS has well under 200bhp at best...

Even the GTS-T only has 250bhp tops

Mike.
13-07-05, 06:50 PM
iff your after a skyline why not get a GTS-T there not 4 wheel drive but there just as good, and get a r32, they look better than any other skyline

Jack

no its more as they are considerd a hazard from fire and also the fact the nova is not made for a 2 litre turbo and if i can get insurance quote for an rx7 (group 20) why cant i get one for my nova

Marc
13-07-05, 10:48 PM
ok that sucks steve proper bad, go for the rx 7 then mate lol

is it me or does that picture of the skyline have a renault badge on it? its a renualt 19 kitted up lol

gt-r are a bithc to get insured on but the gt-s are rear wheel dirve dso can have a bit more fun!

if your looking for skylines nearly every month in baqnzi there is a skyline gt-r, gt-s or gt-s so worth buying for jap cars :D

How old are you? I am 26, 5 years no claims and am paying about ?1300 for insurance on my Evo. It is group 20+(is that an insurance company specific thing?)

Your no claims will go in your favour. When applying go for a limited mileage, Skylines drink petrol almost as much as my car does, so unless you want to give up the rest of your life, you need to drive very few journeys!!!

If tis makes no sense or is waffle, I am drunk!

Jack

Hmmm RX7 or XE nova... I know which I'd have

Well insurenace categories are, to a certain extent, a guide for insurance companies so they know how to charge for a certain car based on poerformance, drive, desirability etc. The desirability is a big factor - in terms of theives wanting to twoc the vehicle and how hard it will be driven.

Also take into account the number of claims a company has had to make for certain cars - this is the case for my Celica. Although its a Group 18 car and should be more expensive than the group 17 200SX S14A, the 200 has had more claims to its name due to it being cheap to buy, and RWD. The GT-Four tends to be overlooked.

dont really know jap RWD or a XELET Noa FWD choices choices!

yeh how much you pay for your GT4 Razorjack?

Jack
14-07-05, 12:18 PM
?722 with Admiral, thats not the cheapest (elephant was -?75 but my sister has had trouble with them before, and I preferred a UK call centre lmfao)

Thats for fully comp, unlimited miles, Business Class 1 use. 5yrs NCB and 3 points, A Grade postcode area.

A 200SX S14A would have been ~?1000 for SD&C only!

And I'd have the RX7 over an XE nova

Marc
14-07-05, 04:54 PM
thats alright then mate but for an extra 75 less trouble is good :D

pefer the GT4's over the 200sx anyway

im unsure about the rx7 or the let nova hard choice for me :?
