View Full Version : injectors ticking loudly
okk i have a 1600 gte, and have just noticed that the injectors are ticking loudly, are they supposed to be like this, or is there a problem with them?
cheers
Sure its not the lifters?
Has it just started doing it?
Sounds like your hydaulic lifters ( they pump up with oil when the engine runs and force the cam followers onto the cam ) Injectors don't usually make a noise loud enough to hear when the engine is running.
Its not unusual for engines with hydraulic lifters to be noisy when first started and at low idle when the engine is very hot from ragging. If it is noisy all the time its a sign of a worn engine/ low oil pressure. You might not be getting enough oil pressure cos the strainers in the sumps are often clogged in older cars
no its definatly the injectors, was told that they were just pulsing loudly, and its nothing to worry about

injector knock on dervs is a totally different thing
and is usually the ENGINE knocking due to a dodgy injector either putting too much or too little fuel in
