changing fuel pump

Might sound stupid but........

I will be attempting to change the fuel pump on my car, but i dont have much experiance when it comes to messing around with engines

Just wanted to now if its an easy job and or is there something to look out for

do i just cover up the inlet and outlet pipes, remove the filter put the new one in and re-attach the pipes

any help appreciated

what engie is your car ?

if it's the lobe driven mech pump then it's very easy.

Give the little mesh a clean and see if it jets correctly, it could not be a fuel pump problem ?
